The Great British Multi National TESCO has been granted permission to open another outlet (minus off-licence for now) in the units occupied by The Complex in Smithfield. We need all ideas to stop this juggernaut from making homeless a very vibrant happening arts space. We will be appealing this to An Bord Pleanala ( so can you, EVERY LITTLE HELPS!). Another super market versus an arts space. Does this City need another super market? You can make a difference. Please forward this to all interested parties and get behind The Complex’s campaign. Thank you. Tesco’s planning application has gone to An Bord Pleanala for appeal. This process takes approximately ten months when an oral hearing will take place, for the stakeholders to make the case in favour of The Complex to the Bord. Thank you to all our friends and supporters for your offer of help. We would like you to send us a letter outlining your reasons for wanting The Complex to stay and to stay in Smithfield. This letter will be brought to the attention of the planners, the politicians and An Bord Pleanala. We’ll keep you posted.
