Saturday 6th April The Cooler at The Complex
Doors 7:30pm / Music 8:00pm
Galway jazz guitarist and composer Aengus Hackett has honed his creative voice for many years in collaborations with the cream of Ireland’s jazz scene. This is brought to the fore in his debut trio album featuring two of Dublin’s finest improvisers, Derek Whyte (bass) and Matthew Jacobson (drums).
Drawing on his diverse influences, Hackett’s music combines elements of jazz, rock and electronica. With their collective experience as improvisers, this group approaches Hackett’s melodic compositions with a freedom which is invigorating.
On the night, the band will launch their new album with a full concert.
This (album) recording was supported through funding from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media as administered via the Music Industry Stimulus Package 2020.
This event is presented by Aengus Hackett in association with Improvised Music Company.
