Prepare to immerse yourself in an evening of profound musical artistry and poignant lyrical expression. On the 18th of November, we cordially invite you to The Complex for an exceptional event featuring AL Reddan and his accomplished band, complemented by the formidable talents of Ellie O'Neill. This assures you to be a musical soiree of unparalleled significance.
AL Reddan: An Odyssey from Tipperary to West Cork
Renowned as an adept songwriter, AL Reddan, originally hailing from Tipperary and presently settling in West Cork, has embarked on a captivating musical odyssey. Following an extensive sojourn in Canada and the United States, he returned to Ireland, forging alliances with contemporary luminaries in the folk music domain. These collaborations, developed in the heart of Dublin, underwent a precise rebirth within the recording studio, culminating in his inaugural full-length, 'Virtual Greyhound.'
AL Reddan's lyrical compositions often transport audiences to ethereal, conceptual realms developed within the Irish midlands, sylvan landscapes, and distinguished establishments. His oeuvre is characterised by a profound exploration of the metamorphic powers inherent to the natural world, which act as a poignant reflection of personal growth and self-discovery. It is noteworthy that selections from his repertoire have garnered recognition through airplay on Ruth Smith's 'Simply Folk' programme on RTÉ Radio 1.
Nonetheless, this musical odyssey is poised to continue. AL Reddan is presently engaged in the creation of an eagerly awaited successor to his debut album, tentatively christened 'The Holistic Hotel.' The slated release for this forthcoming opus is early 2024. His current collaborators in this artistic venture comprise Phil Christie (keyboardist, guitarist), Ben Strong (violinist, bassist), and Joe Love (percussionist).
