Here’s what some of The Complex Studio Artists have been up to in December.
Stephen Loughman
Stephen Loughman is a contemporary painter based in Dublin. His work often appropriates film imagery, allowing him to distil and reedit them to form.
Earlier this month, Loughman showcased his work as part of 'Dubliners', the international section of the 6th Biennial of Painting, Zagreb, curated by Mark Cullen & Gavin Murphy. 'Dubliners' took place in Pallas Projects, and was an intergenerational grouping of painters who were born, bred, studied, or live and work in Dublin.
The show invited questions such as 'what does (or can) such an exhibition say about a city, its people?'
More information about 'Dubliners' can be found here.
Brokentalkers
Brokentalkers are an internationally renowned theatre company, led by Co-Artistic Directors Feidlim Cannon and Gary Keegan with Creative Producer Rachel Bergin. They devise original live performances, and explore new forms that challenge text based theatre.
In December, Brokentalkers announced that their award winning production 'The Examination' will be touring Ireland in 2022. The play explores mental health and human rights in the prison system, and draws on historical research and testimony from current and former prisoners. Tour dates can be found here.
Dublin Digital Radio (DDR)
